Sightseeing

If you're new to Jo'burg you could start exploring on a hop-on-bus tour. Great overview over the city and you are covering most of the must-see attractions in town, like the Apartheid Museum, Constitution Hill, the South African Brewery, Gold Reef City, Zoo Lake, Newtown, Braamfontein, the Mining District, the Carlton Centre and many more.

Of course you can also take a private tour guide showing you around in Joburg, Soweto or at the local markets. There are plenty of art galleries and cool neighbourhoods to explore. You could even just hop in an Uber and go!

It would be too many activities to list here - but we'll tell you all about it if you need advice.

Out-of-town activities

A quick drive out of town and you're in African nature. Mountain-biking trails, horseback safaris, hiking trails and hot-air balloon rides are waiting for you. These are bucket list experiences which you will never forget.

The Cradle of Humankind, an UNESCO World Heritage site, can keep the science and history lover busy for a whole day or two, with its world class museum Maboneng or the Sterkfontein Caves.

You could also visit the Rhino and Lion Park, Lesedi Cultural village, a monkey sanctuary or hop on the cable car overlooking the Hartebeersport Dam. And there are some stunning restaurants out there too - wish we could come with you.

No matter how long you stay in Joburg, you will never manage to do and see all our recommendations. But you can start!
